Georgia. This tooth was examined by Dr. Gordon Hubble, and deemed to
be one of the largest posterior teeth ever found. The principal teeth
would have been over 7 inches. As far as quality goes, this obviously
does not measure up to the "Almost Perfect" standards I typically strive
for, but what can I say it was the first tooth I purchased.
However, since this tooth is the reason I started collecting fossil shark's

perfect to me. This tooth for that reason has to be on the "Best of

that runs along the entire edge of the crown, with the very tips of the
serrations being a tan color. Just having the tip present on
a Bone Valley tooth is rare, but to have a preserved tip on a 4+ inch lower
Bone Valley tooth is about as rare as they come. In my opinion this is
the best and rarest Bone Valley Tooth I have ever seen. |

An unbelievable 4" upper lateral meg from Bone
Valley, FL. This tooth is quite possibly the best white/blue Bone
Valley meg ever found. The snow white root is in pristine condition,
with 3 well defined nutrient holes, and virtually no cracking. The
off white bourlette is amazingly well preserved at 99%, extending to the very edges
of the tooth. This amazing bourlette wraps around the tooth to
where the flat side bourlette is 90+% intact. The crown enamel is a
beautiful, glossy, highly sought after, navy steel blue. There is
almost no hydration cracking on the entire tooth, with the flat side having
none visible. There is also virtually no enamel peel on the tooth
either. The serrations are in phenomenal condition with only two
(maybe two and a half) nicked, even the tiny ones near the root are intact.
The tip is present and very well preserved. As every one knows,
this rare for Bone Valley meg, especially for a 4" Bone Valley. What
else is there to say, world class tooth, and you can also visit it on the
"Best of the Best" page. |

Awesome upper lateral meg from Battery
Creek Port Royal, South Carolina. One of the nicest teeth you will
ever seen from South Carolina. Definitely on the "Best of the Best"
Page. The brownish gray root is in great condition,
and virtually no cracking on the display side. The
brown and tan mottled bourlette is amazingly well preserved at 99%, extending to the very edges
of the tooth. This amazing bourlette wraps around the tooth to
where the flat side bourlette is 95+% intact. The crown enamel
is a beautiful, glossy, mottled light gray (almost bluish), tan, and black.
The color of this tooth is very reminiscent of those found at the famous Lee
Creek, NC. There is almost no hydration cracking on the flat side. There is also virtually no enamel peel on the tooth
either. The serrations are in phenomenal condition (Lee Creek Sharp) with only
one very slightly nicked (and I am being very picky here), even the tiny ones near the root are intact.
The serrations also exhibit the cool attribute of being a different color
from the crown enamel. The tip is perfect! |
