Georgia Teeth

Labial View Tip Pathological Wrinkles	M1	5.5" Slant Length 4.9" Width	A large upper posterior meg from Georgia. This tooth was examined by Dr. Gordon Hubble, and deemed to be one of the largest posterior teeth ever found. The principal teeth would have been over 7 inches. As far as quality goes, this obviously does not measure up to the "Almost Perfect" standards I typically strive for, but what can I say it was the first tooth I purchased. However, since this tooth is the reason I started collecting fossil shark's teeth, it's perfect to me. This tooth for that reason has to be on the "Best of the Best" page.
Labial View Tip	M3	4.9" Slant Length 3.75" Width	A nice upper lateral meg from Georgia. The dark brown to black root is in good condition. The black bourlette is about 70% complete. What makes this tooth so interesting is the enamel. The black enamel has very little peel, and neat copper colored patterns on the labial side. The serrations are river worn, but most are still present.
Labial View Tip	M4	3.75" Slant Length 2.4" Width	An upper principal meg from Georgia. The thick black and dark brown root is the classic shape for a lower tooth, and well preserved with a nutrient hole in the center. The dark brown bourlette is 75% complete. The light copper-tan enamel is well preserved with little peel on either side. The display side is very chatoyant giving it almost a metallic flake copper look. The serrations are river worn but present. The tip is rounded.
Labial View Tip	M5	4.9" Slant Length 4.0"Width	A great upper principal meg from Georgia. The black root is well preserved with protective nubs, and a large nutrient hole in the center. The black bourlette is 92% compete and extends to the extreme edges. The tan and copper colored enamel has very little peel, especially on a tooth this size. The serrations are river worn but are mostly all present, with the exception of just a few. The tip is worn but present.
Labial View Tip	M31	3.3" Slant Length 2.9" Width	An excellent upper lateral/posterior meg from Georgia. The black root is is solid and has 2 nice nutrient holes. The black bourlette is 97% complete extending right to the edges. The black enamel is in excellent condition with virtually no peel on the display side. The serrations are in awesome condition especially for a river tooth. They are extremely sharp and large and all present with only the tips of one or two missing. The tip is sharp as well.
Labial View Tip Pathology	M32	3.9" Slant Length 3.2" Width	A unique lower lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is well preserved. The black bourlette is 96% complete and very dense. The black enamel is in great condition with very little peel on either the display or the flat side. The serrations are in good condition and are sharp. They are mostly present except for a section below the root on the left when viewed from the labial side. The tip is huge and is great condition. There is a pathological twist as well to this tooth making it just a great tooth.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M33	3.7" Slant Length 2.9" Width	Nice upper lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is well preserved with little cracking. The 98% complete black bourlette is awesome with pyrite inclusions in the vertical cracks. The copper-tan enamel is the one of the most chatoyant I have ever seen. The serrations are in ok condition with a few sections missing. The tip is rounded but present.
Labial View Tip	M34	4.75" Slant Length 3.9" Width	An attractive upper lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is solid and well preserved. The 85% complete black bourlette is dense. The copper-tan enamel is glossy with very little hydration cracking or peel for tooth this size. As with the other teeth from this location, the enamel on the display is extremely chatoyant. There is not a single serrations missing and are excellent condition for a river tooth. The tip is completely intact and just slightly worn from the river.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M40	5.45" Slant Length 3.75" Width	A huge lower lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is an incredible 1.25 inches thick and very well preserved with a couple of nutrient holes. The 99% complete black bourlette is just awesome on this tooth, and is filled with pyrite. To find a lower of this size with a bourlette this complete is very rare, making this tooth a true gem. The black enamel is very glossy with little peel on either side. The serrations are sharp and few are missing, except around the tip.
Labial View Tip	M43	4.25" Slant Length 2.8" Width	A beautifully symmetrical upper principal meg from Georgia. I have to admit the jaw position of this tooth is a bit baffling to me. To me this looks like a lower principal, but the person I bought it from said it is an upper principal. Anyway, the tooth is great no matter what jaw position it is from. The black root is extremely thick (> 1") and solid with a number of nutrient holes present and very little cracking. The black bourlette is 90% complete and very dense. The bourlette on the labial side is about 90% complete also. The black enamel is glossy with just a little peel on either side. The serrations are large and sharp, with only the slightest flake of enamel missing on a couple. The tip is intact and sharp.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M46	3.3" Slant Length 2.6" Width	A neat upper posterior meg from Georgia. This is one of the blackest teeth I have ever seen. Nice black root. The jet black bourlette is 97% complete and the missing sections are filled with pyrite. The pyrite actually extends up into the root and even onto the flat side. The crown enamel is jet black and extremely glossy with virtually no peel on the display side. The serrations are sharp and some sections have unusually large ones as well. The enamel at the tip has flaked off but it is still there.
Labial View Tip	M47	4.25" Slant Length 3.1" Width	An "Almost Perfect" upper lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is solid and dense with little cracking, with a number of well defined nutrient holes. The black bourlette is 95% complete and is very thick, almost puffy. The enamel on the crown is very glossy with very little peel on either side. It has a beautiful mottling of gray and black, with a very cool bird like design just below the bourlette. The serrations are large and sharp with just a single serration nicked. The tip is in pristine condition. What else can I say, I like this tooth so much I made it my logo tooth, it's awesome! Labial View Tip Pathological Twist	M53	3.6" Slant Length 2.9" Width	A beautiful upper lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is fantastic with a single well defined nutrient hole in the center and very little cracking. The black bourlette is 95% complete and it is very smooth and dense. The crown enamel is jet black on the display side, and a mottling of black and gray on the flat side, neither side having much peel. The serrations are slightly river worn but are all present and sharp. The tip is intact and sharp. There is also a unique pathological twist along the center axis. When you put it all together this is great tooth, and on the "Best of the Best" page.
Labial View Tip	M54	4.25" Slant Length 2.7" Width	A classic lower lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is indicative of what a lower jaw tooth should look like, and is about 1 inch thick. The root has little cracking on the display side and a large nutrient hole in the center. The black bourlette is 95% complete. The top layer of the lower middle section of the bourlette is missing, but the bottom layer is still present. The black enamel has a gray mottling and little peel on either side. The serrations are in excellent condition, as far as I can tell not a single one missing. The tip is river worn but still present. This tooth also has a small pathological wrinkle on the left side just below the root when viewing the labial picture.
Labial View Tip	M63	2.1" Slant Length 2.0" Width	A cute little upper posterior meg from Georgia. I'll admit I'm guessing on whether this is an upper or lower posterior, but it appears to be an upper to me. The black root is excellent condition with not a single crack. The black bourlette is about 70% complete. The black crown enamel is in awesome condition with virtually no peel, and not a single hydration crack on the labial side. The serrations are in great condition not a single one missing. The tip is slightly worn, but still sharp and present.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M64	3.55" Slant Length 2.7" Width	Nice lower lateral meg from Georgia. This is the blackest tooth I have ever seen, even blacker than M46. The large black root is in good condition, with a number of pyrite inclusions attached (hard to see from the picture, but they are there). The symmetrical dark black bourlette is 90% complete. The crown enamel is very glossy with little peel on the display side. The serrations are extremely sharp for a river tooth, with only a few nicked. The tip is huge and sharp.
Labial View Tip	M65	4.15" Slant Length 2.75" Width	An awesome lower principal meg from Georgia. This tooth is also on the "Best of the Best" page. The black root is very thick (~ 1 inch), and extremely well preserved with a couple of nutrient holes and very little cracking. The 97% complete black bourlette is very smooth and dense. The black crown enamel has very little peel. The serrations on this tooth are in pristine condition, with just the slightest nick to the very tips of a couple (and I'm being very picky here). The serrations are extremely sharp and there are a couple of sections that are very large. The tip is slightly river worn but still sharp. Just a great tooth.
Labial View Tip	M66	4.4" Slant Length 2.75" Width	Excellent lower lateral meg from Georgia. This tooth looks like the brother of M47. The black root is very thick and has the classic shape of a lower jaw tooth. The root also has a nicely defined nutrient hole in the center, and very little cracking on either side. The smooth black bourlette is 95% complete. The crown enamel is extremely glossy and a beautiful mottling of dark gray and black with little peel especially on the display side. The serrations are large and extremely sharp. The tip intact and sharp, but the enamel flaked off on the labial side. That is the only thing keeping this off the "Best of the Best" page.
Labial View Tip Pathological Wrinkles	M67	4.4" Slant Length 3.2" Width	Beautiful upper lateral meg from Georgia. The black root has little cracking and two well defined nutrient holes in the center. The unusual black bourlette is 95% complete and extends to the extreme edges. The crown enamel is a beautiful mixture of copper and brown, and incredibly chatoyant. The serrations are slightly river worn but still sharp and all are in tact. The tip has a flake of enamel missing on the labial side, but is sill sharp and present. This tooth has a nice row of pathological wrinkles just below the root on the left side when viewing the lingual side picture.
Labial View Tip	M68	5.1" Slant Length 3.6" Width	An awesome upper lateral meg from Georgia. The black root is extremely well preserved with a nutrient hole and protective nubs. The root has little cracking for a tooth this size. The dense smooth black bourlette is 98% complete and has pyrite in the cracks and up into the root. This fantastic bourlette extends to extreme edges where it flows seamlessly into the crown enamel. The bourlette on the flat side is 80+% complete as well. The crown enamel is a mottling of gray and black with amazingly little peel. The serrations are incredibly sharp and huge, and other than one small section are in pristine condition. The tip is huge and sharp. Even with the small section of serration damage this tooth is worthy of being on the "Best of the Best" page.
Labial View Tip	M70	2.75" Slant Length 2.2" Width	Nice upper lateral meg from Georgia. The gray and chalky white root is in good condition. The black, gray, and chalky white bourlette is 98% complete and extends to the extreme edges. The black in the bourlette makes like a racing stripe in the middle, very unique. The gray, tan, and cream colored mottled enamel is very glossy. the serrations are sharp and pristine, with only the tip of one missing. The tip is sharp. Nice smaller tooth.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M74	3.7" Slant Height 2.7" Width	Very cool lower lateral meg from Georgia. The black and brown root is a classic lower shape with little cracking and a nice nutrient hole in the center. The large black bourlette is 95% complete and just loaded with pyrite. The black crown enamel is extremely glossy, and the display side is very chatoyant, appearing almost copper at the right angles. The flat side enamel has neat copper patterns just below the root on both edges. The serrations are river worn, but as far as I can tell not a single one nicked. The tip is also river worn, but still present and sharp.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M82	4.0" Slant Height 3.1" Width	Beautiful upper lateral meg from Georgia. This tooth is also on the "Best of the Best" page. The black root is very solid with little cracking and a few defined nutrient holes in the center. There are number of large pyrite inclusions and concentrated areas of pyrite on the root. The 99% complete black bourlette is extremely dense and just loaded with pyrite. This bourlette is so awesome I had to put a picture in just for that. The crown enamel is a beautiful blue-black color and one of the most chatoyant teeth I have ever seen, it is even chatoyant on the flat side. The color pattern on this tooth are subtle, but very pretty especially on the labial side. The serrations are slightly river worn but are still in great condition with only the tip of one missing. The tip is huge. This is one of my favorite teeth.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M83	4.85" Slant Height 3.75" Width	Excellent large lower principal meg from Georgia. The dark brown root is a classic shape for a lower and very well preserved. The 97% complete black bourlette is phenomenal. This is one of the densest bourlettes I have ever seen with an awesome shape and loaded with pyrite. I put a separate picture in just to show how good this bourlette is. The black crown enamel is very glossy and has virtually no peel on the display side. The serrations are river worn, but I cannot find a single one missing. The tip is also river worn but still present. Great lower tooth, also on the "Best of the Best" page.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Inclusions	M87	3.75" Slant Height 2.8" Width	Excellent upper lateral meg from Georgia. This tooth has it all, and is on the "Best of the Best" page. The jet black root has very little cracking on the display side, a couple of nicely defined nutrient holes in the center, and even a few pieces of pyrite adhered to it as well. The nearly 100% complete black bourlette is awesome, it is smooth, dense, and almost completely outlined with a thin bead of pyrite. The black flat side bourlette is in great condition as well, and is 75% complete. The crown enamel is very glossy, and is a chatoyant black on the display side and a silver black on the flat side with very little peel on either side of the tooth. The serrations are ever so slightly river worn near the tip, but are still sharp and all present but one. The tip is sharp and intact as well. Great little tooth.
Labial View Tip Pyrite Root Pyrite Inclusions	M91	4.8" Slant Height 3.25" Width	Fantastic lower lateral meg from Georgia. The root on this tooth is awesome, it is a classic shape for a lower lateral, it has very little cracking, and the cracks that it does have are filled in with pyrite, and it is also covered with pyrite on the front of the lingual side. The 95% complete black bourlette is awesome as well, it is smooth, dense, and is filled with pyrite, including a large pyrite chunk on the upper right side. The black bourlette on the flat side is 70% complete. The enamel on this tooth is a rare mottled dark green and browns, with virtually no peel on the entire tooth. The serrations are extremely large and sharp with only the tip of one missing. The tip is present with only a slight feeding nick to it. This rare lower is definitely on the "Best of the Best" page.
