A unique upper lateral chubutensis from Lee Creek, NC.  This is from the very end of the chubutensis reign, as the side cusps are weak and barely present.  The white root still has some matrix on it with cool carbon deposits in it.  The thin brown bourlette is about 98% complete.  The places where the bourlette looks like it is missing is just a different color.  The bourlette on the flat side is 75% complete as well.  The crown enamel is a glossy mottling of tan and gray.  The serrations are sharp and great condition with only the tips of a couple missing.  The tip is in perfect pristine condition.

A gem upper lateral chubutensis from Lee Creek, NC.  This tooth is part of the "Best of the Best" collection as well.  The grayish white root is well preserved with very pronounced protective nubs and multiple visible nutrient holes.  The cream bourlette is 95% complete with only a small section missing near the extreme right side.  The flat side bourlette is 95% as well, showing the excellent preservation of this tooth.  The mottled crown enamel is just phenomenal.  The color patterns show exactly where the hydration swelling occurred.  This swelling/cracking allowed the impurities to stain the enamel different colors compared to the outlining enamel.  The serrations are big and sharp and as close to perfect as you can get.  The tip is sharp as well.  Overall just an "Almost Perfect" specimen.

Bourlette

M73 4.5" Slant Length

3.6" Width

An "Almost Perfect" upper lateral meg from Lee Creek, NC.  This is the best tooth I have ever seen/owned, and is obviously on the "Best of the Best" collection page as well.  The tan root is well preserved with very pronounced protective nubs.  The blue-gray and tan mottled bourlette is the best bourlette I've ever seen and is 99% complete.  Normally bourlettes are mostly one color, but this one is mottled and so unique I put a picture in just for that.  The flat side bourlette is a mixture of a light cream and tan and, it too is complete at 98%.  The bourlette on both sides flow almost seamlessly into the crown enamel with virtually no peel.  The crown enamel is a glossy mixture of light gray, tan, and a light cream.  This tooth has phenomenal serrations with only the extreme tips two missing.  The tip is amazing and sharpThis is the best tooth I own.
